I was born in Tobelombang. It is a small village in the Subdistrict of Bunta, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. 

I finished my elementary education at SD Negeri Tobelombang (the State Elementary School of Tobelombang) in 1982. Then I continued to a junior high school called SMP Negeri 1 Bunta (the 1st State Junior High School of Bunta) and graduated in 1985. I  went to a senior high school named SPG Negeri 1 Gorontalo (the 1st State of Teacher Training School of Gorontalo) in Gorontalo and finished in 1988.

I got my bachelor degree at FKIP Unsrat Manado di Gorontalo (the Faculty of Teacher Training Education of Sam Ratulangi University) in 1993. One year later, I became a teacher at SLTP Negeri 4 Limboto (the 4th State Junior High School of Limboto). 

In 1999 I enrolled for a  test for scholarship students studying overseas for a master degree. After a long training, I got a scholarship from our government. In August 2001, I went to United States for my master degree, at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana.
